Bullfighting in Seville: San Miguel Fair
The golden sand of Seville’s La Maestranza bullring will once again have the privilege of being trodden by great names in bullfighting such as Morante de la Puebla, Roca Rey and José Antonio Manzanares. There will once again be bullfighting in Seville during the traditional San Miguel Fair, which this year will take place between 23 and 25 September.
Three days of bullfighting in Seville
Pagés Company has put together a top-class line-up so that, over these three days, the El Arenal neighbourhood can once again enjoy the very best bullfighting atmosphere. The ring on Paseo de Colón will open each afternoon at 18:00 to host the bullfighting events of the San Miguel Fair.
On Friday 23rd, Morante de la Puebla, Juan Ortega and Tomás Rufo will be the bullfighters facing the bulls from Hermanos García Jiménez and Olga Jiménez (Matilla). The following day, facing the bulls from Victoriano del Río and Toros de Cortés, it will be the turn of José María Manzanares, Roca Rey and the alternativa of Juan Pedro García “Calerito”. And, on Sunday, Morante de la Puebla once again, together with Ginés Marín and Pablo Aguado, will face the bulls from the Pedro Domecq ranch.
More bullfighting in Seville: season closing on 12 October
There will not be long to wait before the doors of La Maestranza open once again and there is more bullfighting in Seville. Another bullfight will take place next 12 October. In addition, it will be a charity event, as the proceeds will go to the charity fund of the Hermandad del Gran Poder in Seville.
On this occasion, the leading figures will be the matadors Diego Urdiales, José María Manzanares, Daniel Luque, Juan Ortega and Pablo Aguado, as well as the novice bullfighter Diego Bastos. They will face bulls from the ranches of Juan Antonio Ruiz Espartaco, Daniel Ruiz, Victoriano del Río, Garcigrande, Talavante and Núñez de Tarifa. At the end of the event, Marco Pérez will fight a young bull.
