The Velá de Triana returns to Seville’s most iconic neighbourhood

After a two-year pause due to the pandemic, Calle Betis — the most visited street in Seville’s Triana neighbourhood — will once again be filled with lights, festivities and lanterns. La Velá de Triana, the main celebration of this Seville district, will take place from 21 to 26 July. A wide range of activities will go hand in hand with the leisure and entertainment on offer during these special days.

Plaza del Altozano will be another key spot for the festival, as that’s where the opening speech will take place on Thursday 21, delivered by professor Reyes Robledo — the official kickoff to the celebrations. On the remaining nights, this area will host the main musical performances, with flamenco as the star of the show.

Maestranza Theatre

You can already feel the chill in Seville, and one of the most popular plans during these months for locals and visitors is going to the Maestranza Theatre.

Its programme never disappoints those who enjoy the plays and concerts held there, and this autumn 2023 season is no exception. The Maestranza Theatre will host shows ranging from opera, to jazz and classical music, as well as dance performances that blend traditional and contemporary flamenco. They also haven’t forgotten the most nostalgic, with tribute shows to Tina Turner and Queen taking place this autumn. And there are also unique symphonies that transport us to the classics of Hollywood and Grease: The Musical.

It’ll be almost impossible for you to arrive late to its performances because just a ten-minute walk away you’ll find the Mercado del Arenal car park, where you can park and even reserve your space through our booking portal.
