Fuengirola Fair kicks off with a star-studded music line-up
As the bustle of the high season fades away, in Fuengirola, rather than calming down, its biggest celebrations begin. The festivities in honour of the Virgen del Rosario bring some very special days to this coastal town, such as the Fuengirola Fair, which will take place from 6 to 12 October.
Before that, on Sunday the 2nd, the people of Fuengirola will start warming up with the traditional pilgrimage in honour of Our Lady of the Rosary. At 10:00 a.m., the pilgrims’ mass will take place at Rosario parish, after which the pilgrimage will begin. The Patron Saint will be taken by oxen to El Esparragal Park, in the neighbouring town of Mijas. There, local residents will enjoy a lively day of gathering together which will also feature musical performances by Fran Alba, at 6:00 p.m., and Carlos Bravo, at 8:00 p.m.
Fuengirola Fair
A tradition that is returning after two years without being able to take place due to the pandemic, just like the Fuengirola Fair. For that reason, there is great excitement about gathering again at the fairground, very close to Los Boliches Beach and the Marina. And it returns with top-class performances and a music line-up for all tastes.
All concerts will start at 10:00 p.m. at the Palacio de la Paz, and tickets will cost 10 euros for the stalls and 15 euros for the boxes. Except for the Flamenco Festival on 12 October, whose price will be 5 and 10 euros, respectively. Tickets can already be purchased through the municipal website.

La Oreja de Van Gogh and Manuel Lombo The weekend will begin with the band from San Sebastián La Oreja de Van Gogh. Its five members, with lead singer Leire Martínez at the front, will perform on Friday, 7 October, for the Fuengirola audience, who in this case will not have seats in the stalls.
That will be the case the following day, with the performance by Manuel Lombo. The eclectic artist from Seville will liven up the Saturday night of the fair with his concert. And Sunday will be the turn of Funambulista, the musical group led by Diego Cantero.will be at 50% of their price. In addition, that day there will be a children’s party at the Palacio de la Paz featuring a performance by Cantajuegos. Admission is free upon collection of an invitation.

The final stretch of the Fuengirola Fair will feature two very different shows. On Tuesday the 11th, on the eve of Pilar Day, Mario Vaquerizo will lead his group Nancy Rubias on a day when Samantha Hudson will also perform. Two artists who will delight the younger audience.
As a grand finale, on Wednesday there will be room at the Palacio de la Paz for the most Andalusian art form. The 42nd Flamenco Festival will bring together local artists such as Bonela Hijo and Isabel Guerrero, with José Mercé as the headline act.
