Tips for parking during Holy Week in Seville
Parking during Holy Week in Seville can be a headache, as it is a week with serious crowds of people and vehicles around the same point: the city centre. Below, we suggest alternatives so that mobility is not a problem and you can enjoy this week to the fullest.
Impact of Holy Week on mobility
The tourist appeal and the deep devotion to Holy Week shared by many people in Seville cause the areas around the brotherhoods to become overcrowded, creating a challenge for mobility in the city.
The city centre becomes pedestrian-only, and public transport changes its routes daily to allow the processions to pass normally. In this way, you could travel by metro to Puerta de Jerez or by bus to Ponce de León (when possible, as certain brotherhoods pass through this point and force bus routes to be changed) and from there move around the city centre on foot.
Despite being a service that works perfectly in Seville, the large influx of people means that public transport is also affected.
Parking alternatives
If you are thinking of parking in Seville during Holy Week with your personal vehicle for greater convenience and time savings, we suggest three car parks where you can park near your destination:
José Laguillo Car Park: less than 10 minutes on foot from Plaza de la Encarnación, it offers full availability (24 hours). It allows you to park near the Santuario de los Gitanos (3 minutes), the Capilla de Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles and the Parroquia de San Roque (5 minutes), Iglesia de Santa Catalina (7 minutes) and Iglesia de la Trinidad. You will be able to leave the city centre without problems when using this car park.
Mercado del Arenal Car Park: a car park right in the centre of Seville and a 9-minute walk from the cathedral, it offers full availability (24 hours), although access may be affected by brotherhood processions along Adriano or Reyes Católicos streets. This car park is next to the Hermandad del Baratillo, near Plaza de Molviedro and Puente de Triana.
Mercado de Triana Car Park: in Plaza del Altozano, next to Puente de Triana, it offers full availability (24 hours), although it may also be affected by brotherhood processions. It is the right option if you want to enjoy this beautiful neighbourhood, as this car park is very close to the famous Capilla de los Marineros, where the Hermandad de la Esperanza de Triana starts from (3 minutes), the Hermandad de la Estrella (3 minutes) and, in general, all the brotherhoods of Triana.
Other alternatives
If you are one of those who enjoy the city in a different way, you can travel by bicycle to the Arenal and José Laguillo car parks, as they offer exclusive bicycle parking spaces through Don Cicleto, providing the greatest safety and convenience for this type of journey.
