Where to find electric vehicle charging stations
During the month of July, sales of electrified vehicles (electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, including passenger cars, quadricycles, commercial and industrial vehicles, and buses) were 4% higher than in the same month of the previous year, accounting for 7.2% of the total market. Then, in August, sales rose by 11%, reaching 7.5% of total sales for that month. The gradual penetration of these models is becoming evident and, in parallel, the need to find electric vehicle charging stations, also known as charging hubs, is increasing.
APPS TO FIND EV CHARGING STATIONS
In Spain, we have thousands of these charging points, especially in major cities, and they can be found through apps such as Electromaps, Carwow or even Google Maps itself. In them, users can find the stations available at APPARKYA in several of its car parks. Through these apps, it is easy to locate any charging point using the search function or directly on the map.
And electric cars are one of the pillars of the future of sustainable mobility, as confirmed by the data published month after month by the Spanish Association of Automobile and Truck Manufacturers (ANFAC). In 2021, registrations of alternative vehicles increased by 55.2% compared to the previous year, despite the drop in vehicle sales overall. Meanwhile, in 2021, 4,866 charging points were installed at charging stations, a growth rate four times lower than what is needed to keep pace with market growth.

IBERDROLA GUARANTEE AT OUR ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS
The figures are growing, but the pace is not the right one, leaving Spain far behind the rest of Europe in terms of electrified vehicle penetration. At APPARKYA, we are aware of the new reality towards which urban mobility is heading, which is why we have several electric vehicle charging stations managed by Iberdrola. Specifically, they can be found in four of our car parks in Seville (Mercado del Arenal, Mercado de Triana, Rafael Salgado and José Laguillo) and at Hermanos Maristas in Granada.
To use them, users must do so through the Smart Mobility app that Iberdrola makes available to them. From there, they can select the charging point they want to go to. By registering beforehand, they will be able to charge and monitor consumption through their mobile phone.
HOW DO EV CHARGING STATIONS WORK?
Once the charging point is activated from the mobile app, all you have to do is go to the corresponding car park, connect the appropriate cable depending on the type of charge, and wait for the process to be completed. The waiting time varies greatly. Depending on the type of charging point, it can range from 8 hours to less than an hour to reach 80% charge, which is the maximum recommended charge. Some electric vehicle charging stations offer ultra-fast charging in six minutes.

You also have to take into account the charging power that each vehicle can accept, since it would make no sense to connect a car to a fast charger if it does not support it. What manufacturers recommend is Mode 3, which can reach a power output of 7.4 kW in a single-phase installation. This is the type of charging available in our car parks.
APPARKYA CAR PARKS WITH CHARGING POINTS
APPARKYA car parks with EV charging stations are:
Mercado del Arenal car park: a car park located beneath the market that gives it its name, right in the centre of Seville and next to the Bullring, the Maestranza Theatre and the Torre del Oro. It has two electric charging points.
José Laguillo car park: its location makes it a benchmark for convenient access to Seville’s historic centre, as well as for its proximity to ADIF Sevilla Santa Justa Station. It has two electric vehicle charging stations.
Mercado de Triana car park: it is located in one of Seville’s most emblematic neighbourhoods and beneath the market from which it takes its name. This car park is located in Plaza del Altozano, between the pedestrian area of San Jacinto Street and Betis Street, and it also has two charging points.
Rafael Salgado car park: this is our car park with the highest number of EV charging stations available, up to 16. It is the best option for parking if you need to go to the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital or the Quirón-Salud Sagrado Corazón Hospital, as it is located right in the centre of the Bami neighbourhood in Seville, next to the National Police station.
Hermanos Marista car park: it has two points for electric vehicles where you can conveniently charge your car while parking in the centre of Granada, thanks to its excellent location next to the Albaicín neighbourhood, bordering Plaza de los Lobos and Plaza de la Trinidad.
